This may sound odd after 20+ years of owning a business, but today I finally realised what my business USP is!
I love the very early morning walk I do several times a week on my own: just me and the dog. I say ‘Good Morning’ or smile at everyone I pass (sorry about that). I will always stop and chat with anyone.
This year has been very up and down for business, some very difficult decisions have been made, and there is constant concern for the future with AI, continual offshoring and with so many employers focused on cost-cutting.
On a personal level, it’s been great in so many ways.
I have kept the weight off I lost in January. For the 5th year running, I am averaging around 13000 steps a day.
I have introduced a very early morning 15-minute fitness schedule in between making coffee and having a shower, which is making a real impact (alongside football 2-3 times a week)
I have consumed more books this year than I have in the previous 30 years.
All have been mindset, self-improvement/business improvement.
Today, though partway through the book – Start with Why (which I am really enjoying) – the realisation hit me.
The USP for Jump IT Recruitment Solutions Limited is amazing and generous Customer Loyalty, far beyond what most recruiters will ever experience in their careers.
I had never thought of Customer Loyalty as something that makes us different, as I often speak to customers who have used me for 30 years and consider them friends now.
However, Customer Loyalty has been staring me in the face all this time. It is why they keep coming back.
I am/we are far from perfect, but those clients/customers who have invested a little time with us have stuck with us through thick and thin.
They trust us to deliver (OK, not always instantly).
They believe in our experience and knowledge.
They see the value we add.
They keep coming back and see no reason to change recruiters.
In return, we find them great people who stay with them, offer a fair and good price point, we add value, and we have helped their businesses grow (multiple times from start up to point of sale and beyond!)
