My longest ever hunt for a candidate is finally over!!!
Yep. In 30 years of recruiting, I finally did it.
We found someone for a critical role thatโs been open since June/July 2024. Just about a full year minus a few days!
Never in my career has a role taken this long to find the right person.
During this time, I have also recruited additional people into my client’s business.
But now, the hunt is over.
They never gave up on me / Jump IT Recruitment Solutions Limited as they knew this was about the perfect person, and they were willing to wait. It had to be right. We had the role exclusively too.
No need to comment about โWhy didnโt they compromise?โ โThey must be difficultโ โ Surely it impacted their businessโ etc.
I get it. It may have seemed unusually long, but it was a key role, and being business critical, it needed the right person and tech fit above and beyond a normal search!!
Started last June/ July and has finally finished with a positive outcome, the perfect candidate.
Admittedly, I did (several times) get to a point where I thought, โWhat am I missing in this role?โ
Outcome: 3 happy parties. The client. The candidateโฆand โฆme
So pleased to have got there. Anyone beat that duration???
